Lemongrass plant was brought to Turkey about 25 years ago and has become a plant that has been cultivated for the last 15 years. The plant is especially suitable to be grown in areas close to the coastline, where winters are not too cold. In cold regions, its growth slows down and its yield decreases. The seedlings obtained from the cuttings planted in the rooting medium are planted in the field in the spring in March-April. 100x50 cm is suitable for planting distance. However, the spacing between rows can be increased a little more. Approximately 2000 seedlings are planted per decare. It is harvested twice a year, at the beginning and end of summer. In total, 100-150 kg of dry leaf yield can be obtained per decare.
