Yarrow is a herbaceous, perennial plant. In winter, all the above-ground parts dry up, rosette leaves, stem and flowers are renewed in spring. It usually blooms in June-August. Flower colours are white, cream and yellow.
It has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. It contains 0.2-1.0% essential oil. The essential oil of this plant contains chemicals called proazulene and the essential oil colour is blue.
