Mallow, scientifically Malva sylvestris, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Malvaceae family. This plant, which is native to the Mediterranean climate, has a wide distribution throughout the world. The leaves of hibiscus are round or kidney-shaped, with toothed and lobed margins. The leaf surface may be slightly hairy and has a 5-7 lobed structure. The flowers of the plant have five petals and can be pink, purple or sometimes white in colour. Each petal is decorated with dark coloured veins.

The flowers usually bloom from early summer to mid-autumn and are an attractive source of pollen for bees and other pollinators. The stem of the hibiscus is erect and hairy, usually reaching heights ranging from 30-100 cm. The stem gives the plant a dense appearance with its branched structure.
