Kiwi is a vine with a large, woody trunk like grapes and sheds its leaves every year. Kiwi vines are planted 4-5 m apart. It is supported by strong poles 1,8-2 m high. Strong vines need ploughed soil, frequent watering and protection from the wind. Although the plant needs a mild climate for healthy growth, it needs the cold of winter for the shoots to grow. The plant blooms in May and the product is harvested in mid-October and November. In the Black Sea region, the temperature is low due to excessive rainfall. The ripening period therefore extends until December
