Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus) Agriculture

The rosemary plant is not cultivated in our country; it is used by picking it from nature. However, since the amount picked from nature has decreased in recent years, field production has become inevitable. The stony and sloping lands that cannot be irrigated can be used for the cultivation of this plant. The production in the rosemary plant is practically made with steel. Seedlings obtained from cuttings planted in rooting medium are planted in the field in March-April in spring or October- November in autumn. Planting density can be made as 70x20 or 100x20. Depending on the use of the intermediate hoeing machine, the choice of row spacing is made. Approximately 5000-7000 seedlings are planted per decare. In irrigated areas, approximately 600 kg of leaf yield per decare can be obtained, and 300 kg of leaf yield in dry conditions.
